Sheilagh Cirillo, Executive Director of the Foundation for Autism Training and Education (FATE), announces the launch of Project Patriot, an initiative to provide support to military families who have children with autism. FATE is a non-profit organization providing targeted training for parents and teachers working with children with autism in public schools. Although the trainings are designed to assist military families, they are FREE and open for anyone to attend.
FATE has scheduled four FREE workshops beginning this October in U.S. cities chosen for their significant military presence. The workshops are available to parents and teachers in Seattle, WA; San Diego, CA; Austin, TX; and Pensacola, FL. These two-day workshops, titled “Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis and Teaching Verbal Behavior in the Classroom” will be conducted by Thomas M. Caffrey, M.Ed., BCBA (www.tomcaffrey.com).
Tom is the parent of a child with autism who brings personal passion to his work. An internationally recognized speaker, he has presented over 300 conferences and workshops on applied behavior analysis and autism. Tom’s extensive use of video featuring actual case studies and his ability to make complex material understandable has made the science more accessible to thousands of professionals and parents.
